Brass Deity Figurine
Lost-wax cast brass figurine, centuries-old Dhokra craft tradition.
The PGD Brass Deity Figurine is cast using the lost-wax (cire perdue) technique by Dhokra artisans in Bastar, Chhattisgarh โ one of the oldest known metalcasting methods in human history, dating back over 4,000 years. Each figurine begins as a hand-sculpted wax model wrapped in clay. When fired, the wax melts away and molten brass is poured into the void. After cooling, the clay mould is broken โ making each casting a true one-of-one piece. The figurines depict traditional Hindu deities and tribal motifs. At 18cm tall, they serve as statement pieces for home altars, collector shelves, and curated retail displays. Every piece ships with a provenance certificate confirming the craft tradition and region of origin.
