Terracotta Planter
Sun-dried terracotta planter with tribal geometric carvings.
The PGD Terracotta Planter is crafted by tribal artisans in the Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh using techniques passed down through generations. Each planter is hand-coiled from locally sourced river clay, sun-dried for 3โ5 days, and then low-fired in a traditional open kiln. The geometric carvings are pressed into the wet clay by hand using bamboo tools โ no two planters carry identical patterns. The natural terracotta finish is left unglazed, allowing the clay to breathe โ which is actually beneficial for plant roots. At 22cm tall with an 18cm opening, it suits medium houseplants, herbs, or succulents. Popular with garden centres, eco-conscious homeware brands, and hospitality projects.
