Wooden Carved Elephant
Hand-carved sheesham wood elephant with traditional Rajasthani motifs.
The PGD Wooden Carved Elephant is hand-carved from seasoned sheesham (Indian rosewood) by master woodcarvers in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh โ a city with a 400-year woodworking heritage. Each elephant is carved from a single block of wood, with no joints or adhesives. The intricate surface patterns โ jali work, floral scrolls, and geometric lattice โ are carved using traditional hand chisels, a process that takes 3โ5 days per piece depending on complexity. The elephant is finished with a natural beeswax polish that protects the wood while showcasing its rich grain. At 20cm tall, it serves as a striking shelf piece, bookend, or centrepiece. Elephants are symbols of wisdom and prosperity in Indian culture, making these popular for housewarming gifts, hotel lobbies, and curated retail.
